Acerca del empleo Carol Morgan School seeks a dynamic and student-centered Physical Education and Health teacher to support our Grade 9 and Grade 10 students. The successful candidate will create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that help students develop fundamental movement skills, teamwork, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity. The Physical Education teacher is also responsible for delivering the CMS health curriculum. Key Responsibilities Instruction & Student Development - Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate physical education lessons for high school students. - Plan and deliver engaging lessons for the CMS health curriculum. - Use standards-based rubrics to assess and report student achievement and growth. - Foster the development of fundamental motor skills, coordination, balance, spatial awareness, and cooperative play. - Create a learning environment where students develop confidence, perseverance, and enjoyment in physical activity. - Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive social interactions through structured activities and games. - Differentiate instruction to support a wide range of developmental levels and learning needs. - Collaborate with the secondary leadership team and specialist colleagues to align instruction with school initiatives, inquiry-based learning practices. Collaboration - Work collaboratively with other PE teachers, specialists, and student support staff to ensure the physical education program supports the development of the whole child. - Participate actively in grade-level collaboration, professional learning, and school initiatives. - Contribute to a positive, collegial culture within the secondary division. Student Safety & Wellbeing - Ensure a safe, structured, and inclusive environment for all students during physical activities. - Teach and model responsible movement practices and age-appropriate safety expectations. - Monitor student well-being and communicate with teachers and families when appropriate. Professional Responsibilities - Maintain clear communication with families regarding student growth and participation. - Maintain an updated gradebook and record attendance consistently and accurately. - Participate in school events, professional development, and collaborative planning. - Support the school’s mission and values through positive leadership and professional conduct.
