Carol Morgan School (CMS) is seeking a Development and Alumni Relations Manager. This position leads the school’s advancement efforts by strengthening philanthropic support, alumni engagement, and community relationships in alignment with the school’s mission and strategic goals. Grounded in best practices in fundraising, donor stewardship, and alumni relations, the Manager designs and implements a comprehensive advancement program that includes annual giving, major gifts, events, and communications. The role focuses on building meaningful connections with alumni, families, and stakeholders while ensuring sustainable growth and long-term support for the school’s programs and priorities.
Scope of Responsibilities:
Fundraising / Development
Develop and implement an annual advancement strategy aligned with school mission and goals (fundraising, alumni engagement, stewardship).
Plan, manage, and execute fundraising campaigns (annual fund, capital campaigns, major gifts, special events), including donor identification, solicitation, and stewardship.
Cultivate and maintain relationships with alumni, parents, trustees, and other constituencies to increase engagement and philanthropic support.
Create and manage alumni programs and events (reunions, networking, class events, giving days), including logistics, budgets, and volunteer coordination.
Oversee donor stewardship and recognition: timely acknowledgments, impact reporting, naming opportunities, and donor benefit fulfillment.
Manage alumni and donor database: maintain accurate records, gift processing, segmentation for outreach, and produce reports/analytics.
Collaborate with Communications Manager for messaging and marketing for advancement: newsletters, email campaigns, social media, website content, and print materials tailored to alumni and donors.
Recruit, train, and coordinate alumni volunteers and class agents for engagement and fundraising activities.
Collaborate with the Head of School, Board, faculty, and parent groups on advancement priorities and solicitations; prepare briefing materials and talking points.
Track and report advancement metrics (revenue, participation rates, retention, pipeline) and present results to leadership and board.
Ensure compliance with donor intent, gift agreements, privacy policies, and relevant legal/regulatory requirements.
Manage advancement budget, vendors, and outside consultants (e.g., prospect research, event production).
Conduct prospect research and move-management for major gift cultivation and planned giving strategies.
Support stewardship of scholarships/endowments and coordinate impact reporting to stakeholders.

CMS Annual Banquet
Family Bingo Night (in Coordination with the PTO/Faculty/Staff)
One major sports fundraiser annually
CMS Anniversary: School-Wide Assembly, Alumni Party, Lunch/Brunch for former teachers/staff, School Tours for Alumni
Memorials
Alumni campus tours & visits
Communications & Public Relations
Write, manage content, edit and publish Alumni Newsletter
Coordinate announcements, media coverage and prepare press releases for CMS advancement and alumni events
Coordinate announcements, press releases, and media coverage for CMS activities related to alumni and advancement
Other
Advise Head of School and Development Committee on appropriate fundraising and alumni activities
Attend and actively participate in all school-related activities
Order promotional items
Required Competencies:
Bilingual (English and Spanish) – oral and written command of both languages
Minimum BA Degree – Communications, Public Relations or Administration preferred
Possess excellent interpersonal, analytical, and organizational skills
Track record of success in Fund Raising
Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar position
Professional demeanor before the parent and school community
Previous experience in the coordination of social, business, and educational events
Proficient use of Computer programs
Must be available for evening and weekend functions when necessary
Schedule:
Monday through Thursday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
