Carol Morgan School (CMS) seeks a dynamic and student-centered Physical Education teacher to support our youngest learners in PreK and Kindergarten. The successful candidate will create engaging, developmentally appropriate learning experiences that help students develop fundamental movement skills, teamwork, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for physical activity. Our early childhood program is inspired by Reggio Emilia principles, and the PE teacher plays an important role in supporting learning through exploration, movement, and play.
This position plays an important role in supporting CMS’s mission of developing students who are active, compassionate, and engaged learners. As our elementary school continues to grow and strengthen its inquiry-based practices and explore the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), the PE teacher will collaborate closely with homeroom teachers and specialists to support a balanced, holistic learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
*Instruction & Student Development
Plan and deliver engaging, developmentally appropriate physical education lessons for students in PreK and Kindergarten.
Foster the development of fundamental motor skills, coordination, balance, spatial awareness, and cooperative play.
Create a learning environment where students develop confidence, perseverance, and enjoyment in physical activity.
Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive social interactions through structured movement activities and games.
Differentiate instruction to support a wide range of developmental levels and learning needs.
*Program Development
Support the philosophy of our Reggio-inspired early childhood program by designing movement experiences that encourage exploration, creativity, collaboration, and student agency.
Design and implement a developmentally appropriate, standards-aligned early childhood physical education program that builds foundational movement skills through play, inquiry, and structured activities.
Support the integration of physical activity with broader social-emotional learning and student well-being goals.
Collaborate with the elementary leadership team and specialist colleagues to align instruction with school initiatives, inquiry-based learning practices, and early childhood best practices.
*Collaboration
Work collaboratively with homeroom teachers, specialists, and student support staff to ensure the physical education program supports the development of the whole child.
Participate actively in grade-level collaboration, professional learning, and school initiatives.
Contribute to a positive, collegial culture within the elementary division.
*Student Safety & Wellbeing
Ensure a safe, structured, and inclusive environment for all students during physical activities.
Teach and model responsible movement practices and age-appropriate safety expectations.
Monitor student well-being and communicate with teachers and families when appropriate.
*Professional Responsibilities
Maintain clear communication with families regarding student growth and participation.
Participate in school events, professional development, and collaborative planning.
Support the school’s mission and values through positive leadership and professional conduct.
Perfil institucional
Contrato: Indefinido / Fijo
Jornada: Completa
Horario: Monday to Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., with one day extending to 4:00 p.m.
Modalidad: Trabajo presencial
